Adidas: The Boston Marathon Celebration Jacket

Two weeks before Adidas planned to drop their most sustainable jacket ever created for the Boston Marathon, they reached out to our in-house team with an idea to create a 3D teaser to accompany the announcement on @adidasrunning and @bostonmarathon.

The only problem was we had no assets, no CAD files, and no concept. And with only 2 weeks to ship, there was only one answer: “We’ll see what we can do.” With the help of Pleid Studio in Madrid, we were able to pitch a concept that was not only achievable to render in such a limited timeframe, but also spoke to the beauty of running and highlighted that this jacket is made from recycled ocean plastic.

And because we needed to be nimble, we did the sound design ourselves.

In just one week, the :15 video netted nearly 23K likes and over 500 comments from runners everywhere.
