I spent a lot of time on set being a production company’s client, and was always fascinated by what the director was doing. I’ve been fortunate enough to transition to the production side for a few jobs, and I owe it all to my brave clients who trusted an art director to helm the ship.

MGM: Gold Strike

Gold Strike Casino is a special property in the MGM portfolio. They've replaced the faceless glitz and glamour of the Vegas Strip with a local flavor where Southern hospitality meets MGM knowhow. Regulars know casino employees by name, making them larger-than-life figures in the lives of residents. We wanted to give these characters the edge, make them look cool but still approachable, and communicate that the customer comes first at Gold Strike.

Satirical powerhouse Thud asked me to produce and direct this video for Tacstorm.com to highlight the features and benefits of the world’s first auto-automatic gun.

Simon's Street is an episodic series that follows the life of Simon, the host of a self-produced children's television show he makes with his roommates, self-aware puppets that are about as dumb as they look. Except for Professor Goose, who's just an alcoholic. 

 
 
 

Jaime Harrison - Character

Jaime Harrison is challenging Lindsey Graham for his senate seat in 2020. The Democratic newcomer has an uphill battle in “ruby red” South Carolina, but he has one thing that Graham doesn’t: character.

Within 24 hours of launching on Jaime’s twitter account, the video had racked up over 1mm views and earned over $270,000 in campaign donations, with retweets from people like Shonda Rimes, Mark Hamill, and Joe Biden.

I acted as creative director and director, working with political agency AL Media to produce this video in just two weeks.

California Craft
Brewer's Association

The CCBA is the governing trade association for all of California’s 900+ craft brewers. They asked me to produce a video promoting their annual summit, which began a three month project traveling across the state and interviewing some of California’s premiere brewers.

Distributor Videos

A short while after we launched the conference video, the CCBA reached out to see if we could cut our existing footage into three different videos to educate legislators about the dangers a proposed distributor bill would have on craft breweries. We ended up going back out to capture new VO, and brought our cameras along to spice up the previously shot film.
